Meeting with the Premier and Senior Ministers

Meeting with the Premier – Friday 7 August, Launceston

We had an excellent meeting with the Premier in Launceston on Friday 7 August in Launceston.

FLAG was represented by Lindsay White, Melissa Fergusson, William Fergusson and Andrew Dunbabin. We also invited farmer James Walch. TasFarmers was represented by President Nathan Cox and Grayson Genders.

The Premier ran the meeting, with Minister Pearce and Anna Fidock, senior adviser to Minister Ellis on forestry and mining, also attending. Minister Ellis joined online with two members of his staff, along with other staff from the Premier’s office.

It was a very cordial and constructive meeting. We certainly felt that the Premier listened carefully to what we had to say and understood that there are serious problems that need to be addressed. Minister Pearce was also very supportive. Overall, we came away feeling that our concerns had been heard.
